Is the warm water therapy pool be open to the public?: Yes, the therapy pool will be open to the public during certain hours. For a list of these hours, please view the Weekly Pool Schedules available on the Facility and Pool Hours Page.

1. What hours will the aquatic center be open?: For exact hours of the Aquatic Center and each individual pool, please click here

2. What are the fees to use the Aquatic Center?: The fees are based on whether you are a town resident or not, what type of membership you would like to purchase or if you just wanted to pay for the day, as well as particular ages. These rates and fees can be found here.

3. Will swim lessons be offered at the Aquatic Center?: Yes, swim lessons will be offered frequently throughout the year. Lessons will be held both mornings and evenings Monday through Friday and also on Saturday mornings, depending on the season and competitive swim meets.

4. How many laps is a mile?: In the competition pool when swimming 25 yards, a mile is equal to 36 laps or 72 lengths; when swimming 50 meters, a mile is 16 laps or 32 lengths.

In the leisure pool swimming 20 yards, a mile is 44 laps or 88 lengths.

5. Can I bring floats in to use at the Aquatic Center?: There are no floats permitted at the Aquatic Center except on special event nights, such as float night.

6. How many pools are at the Christiansburg Aquatic Center?: We have three pools available at the Christiansburg Aquatic Center:

- Competition Pool
- Leisure Pool
- Warm Water Therapy Pool

7. What are the temperatures of the pools?: - Leisure Pool: 84 - 86 degrees
- Warm Water Therapy Pool: 92 - 94 degrees
- Competition Pool: 78 - 81 degrees

8. Are there life jackets available?: Yes, we have a limited number of life jackets available for public use.

9. Is there swim equipment I can use at the pool?: Yes, we have kick boards, and pull buoys for lap swimming only.

10. Who can use the Christiansburg Aquatic Center?: Anyone is welcome to come take a dip in our pools! Come join the fun!

11. Does the Aquatic Center have volunteer opportunities?: Yes, we are currently accepting applications for volunteers. Feel free to contact us at 381-7665 for more information.

13. How long are the pools?: The competition pool is 50 meters long and 25 yards wide. The leisure pool is 20 yards.

14. Can I use the diving boards?: The spring boards will be open to the public during special events. The diving platforms are not available for public use.

15. How do I become a member of the Aquatic Center?: Stop by the Aquatic Center, and our friendly staff will be more than glad to get you a membership set up.

16. How old do I have to be to be left at the Aquatic Center without a guardian?: You must be at least 12 years of age to be at the Aquatic Center without a parent or guardian.

17. I want to come in and just watch my family swim. Do I have to pay to get in?: Yes, those wanting to access the pool deck will need to pay either the daily pass fee or monthly membership fee.

18. How do I register for a class or program?: There are a couple options. Feel free to stop by the facility, and our staff will be glad to register you for your class, or try out our online registration done through the Active Network Website.

19. What forms of payment do you accept?: We accept cash, check, and all major credit cards.

20. What are the heights of the diving boards?: The spring boards are 1 meter (3.28 feet) and 3 meters (9.84 feet). The platforms are 5 meters (16.4 feet), 7.5 meters (24.6 feet), and 10 meters (32.8 feet).
